Kilmore Scout Market runs every 4th Saturday of the Month
Joey Scouts is the first Section of Scouts for boys and girls aged 5 to 8, and it’s all about discovery and excitement!
Joey Scouts are part of a ‘Mob’, led by a Joey Scout Leader. Joey Scouts are encouraged to express themselves creatively, through games, stories and craft activities. From building monsters and spaceships from scrap items, to growing plants from seedlings and singing songs together, all Joey Scouts develop a strong sense of belonging and an understanding of the world around them.
Joey Scouts learn how to share and care, and help other people. They also learn how to recognise native birds and animals, and develop an understanding of the impact of our modern world on the environment.
Some Joey Scouts might even get the chance to have their first sleepover with their Mob, an important and fun ‘first’ for developing independence.
A trained Joey Scout Leader guides a Joey Mob of up to 20 boys and girls. The safety of all Joey Scouts is very important, which is why there are always leaders on hand during all activities.
Cub Scouts is for young people aged 8 to 11 years, and focuses on exploring the outdoors, discovery and learning interesting things!
Cub Scouts belong to a Unit and begin to learn leadership and teamwork in small teams called Patrols.
If you enjoy fun, games and learning new skills then you’ll love being a Cub Scout! You’ll get to go on camps with your Unit, and you might attend a Cuboree camp with hundreds of other Cub Scouts!
As well as learning things like how to use a compass, you’ll go on bushwalks, bike trips, and have the chance to do things like sailing, canoeing, abseiling and sometimes even flying!
Cub Scouts are keen to learn, belong, and have fun, so our activities are designed to stimulate their emotional and adventurous spirits.
Your Cub Scout Leader will help you along the way and encourage you to take part. You’ll learn life-long skills, make friends and have fun!
The Scout section is for boys and girls aged 11 to 14 years and offers an amazing array of activities designed to teach important life skills and get Scouts social and active!
Scouts, as a section, focuses on allowing young people to develop their confidence and teaches them how to work as part of a team.
Scouts learn essential outdoor safety skills as well as participate in a variety of physical and intellectual challenges.
The programs are designed to target each young person’s own special interests, encouraging them to enjoy their favourite hobbies using meaningful badges and awards.
Epic bushwalks and camping expeditions, getting out on the water in a kayak, canoe or sailboat or even going up in a plane on a visit to an Air Activity Centre are just some of the adventures Scouts get up to!.
Venturer Scouts is a do-it-yourself mix of fun, adventure and personal challenge that brings together like-minded young people (male and female) aged 14 to 18 from all walks of life.
When you’re dealing with your toughest years in school and making decisions about your future, Venturer Scouts offers vital breathing space.
You can focus on friendship and personal growth, while picking up valuable life skills along the way.
As a Venturer Scout, you may find yourself exploring wilderness Australia, camping above the snowline or diving on coral reefs. You could be abseiling into a limestone cave or climbing a sheer rock face. Perhaps you’ll learn white water kayaking or ride your mountain bike on an expedition across real mountains. Whatever your challenge, there will be trained and highly experienced adults to guide you through the experience, to teach you the necessary skills and safety techniques.
Venturer Scouts get the opportunity to travel overseas and to organised activities, to live with a different community and to provide service to others.
You don’t need to have any previous Scouting experience. We’ll help you catch up.
